My friends and I actually REALLY enjoyed this show. No, it is not accurate, the same as ALL TV shows, but at least it was a fresh spin on a medical show. We are all so tired of the same old emergency room drama stuff out there. Always the same same same. This was medical, but different. It was just a nice change. Kept our interest.

Not at all! As I said, it is an exaggeration, meant to make a point for viewers to catch about her inward personality (the show is excellent about challenging viewers in this way). As to what it indicates, it is simply that she is fully and entirely human. Everyone has quirks, idiocyncrocies, past baggage that is carried forward ... our little neuroses that make us fully-formed human beings (even in the case of "partial personality disorders" *grin*. The name there is a bit of a misnomer). It is a fictional show, and the demonstrating of inward character traits in this way is a common and very effective tool of fiction. It assists readers / viewers to get a quick grasp of a character's inward nature without spending massive amounts of time in childhood / adolescent flashbacks, or multiple crisis leading to deep interpersonal discussions that would compromise the developing character dynamics and most certainly make Nora appear "unstable."
